My 2005 Dodge Caravan SXT often misses for a few seconds or stalls after I get a tankful of gas and it is topped off. When I don’t top it off, it runs fine. What is the problem here?
The problem is that it shouldn’t be topped off !
Isn’t there a statement to that effect on the gas cap, or inside the gas filler door?
My best guess is that the EVAP system has been disrupted by frequent topping off of the tank. Hopefully you won’t need a new carbon canister, but it is possible. If you are lucky, it is just a malfunctioning valve in the evap line.
I am not seeing this issue (topping off and damage resulting) being addressed by anybody in the repair loop. Am I missing some reports or procedures on this issue? one that we daily recieve request for information about?
