Every time my wife fills up our van it will stall within a couple of blocks of the gas station unless she get up to highway speed pretty quickly after stopping. The car will restart right away but it is slowly getting worse, she use to be able to give it enough gas to prevent stalling but not anymore. She doesn’t fill pass the auto shutoff on the pump. This has everyone pretty confused. Help, she;s making me drive the thing now.
You have a problem with the vapor recovery/fuel tank vent system.
My first thought is the vapor system. but whenever I have seen problems with those, (in the past decade anyway) it has set a check engine code.
Second suspect would be water in fuel tank that gets stirred when you fill the tank. Try a can of HEET or similar product that puts water in suspension so it gets pumped through engine and ‘burned’.
