Extra wire needs a home

I recently inherited a 1977 corvette. I’ve been going through the vehicle taking note of everything and learning this vehicles ins and outs. I stumbled upon this wire coming off of the alternator’s harness. I’m sure it goes somewhere but I cannot put my finger on where. The alternator seems to be charging just fine at slightly over 14V.

(And Yes, I will be replacing ALL of the wire connectors that are out of place in this photo)

First guess, That green wire goes to the temp sending unit.
