Engine stopped, battery good. Troubleshooting

She died suddenly on the road, but i made it to a safe spot. The battery is good and never went off, its not low on gas. The cranking sounds normal exept no ignition. I checked the fuel pump fuse and the belts under the hood. Should i just have it towed or try checking the spark plugs? Any recomendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Here’s some scanner info i don’t understand. Also have live data. 2002 accord

Sorry for replying to myself, wouldn’t let me upload all 3

A bad crank sensor can cause an engine to die and not restart.

Does this engine have a timing belt?

If so… when was the last time the belt was changed?

Live data is useless with a dead engine. Are there any error codes stored? What engine do you have? … helps answer the timing belt question…

Squirt starting fluid in the intake and crank the car. If it runs as long as you are spraying, you have a fuel system problem.

I think leaving car on side of road is not good. Ain’t going to fix it sitting there.

No. Unlikely to be a cause for this symptom. Sounds more like a fuel pump or ignition system problem. Car will almost certainly need to be towed to a shop. If you want to check something yourself, check the fuses for both of those systems. I presume at this point the engine cranks ok – that rrr rrrr rrr sound w/key in “start” – but won’t catch and run. hmm… what else could you try yourself? … well, it is conceivable you are in fact out of gas, and the problem is a faulty fuel gauge. So you could try adding a gallon or two of gas to the tank, see if that helps. Cars that quit while driving for no apparent reason, very frustrating. Best of luck.

Note: Ignition and fuel system problems can be heat-induced. So it might start after the engine compartment cools down, another thing to try.
