Engine stalls on acceleration

My 1993 Ford Explorer has over 208,000 miles. When I accelerate from a stop, the engine jumps, jerks, and almost stalls. It does the same thing at highway speed if I press the accelerator to the floor

Change the fuel filter. Change the spark plugs. Change the plug wires. In that order.

Is the CEL on??

Thanks, I’ll try these. I wonder where the fual filter is located on this vehicle?

Assuming it’s fuel injected, look along the frame rail just forward of the fuel tank. You change it from under the truck…Little plastic clips connect the lines. Don’t be using any great amount of force on the fittings…
