Emission test don't pass

I have don’t pass the emission test for my 1996 exporler. What can I do to pass it.

P0136 - O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0153 - O2 Sensor CKT Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 1)

There could be an exhaust leak that’s affecting the ability of the oxygen sensors to read the air/fuel mixture in the exhaust, but this collection of codes makes me thing that you simply have a bad sensor. There are two; one before the catalytic converter, and one after it. My money’s on the post-cat sensor being the suspect one. Make sure it’s getting the proper voltage by testing the wiring, but if that’s good I’d replace the sensor.

How long has the CEL been on?? Have you tried resetting it?

Budd2049 – I agree with your diagnosis except I think this vehicle might have four O2 sensors. If one believes the computer – not always advisable – there are four. The downstream (post cat) sensor on one side has died and the upstream (pre-cat) sensor on the other side is suspect.
