I drive a 97 nissan 200sx ser manual, with 118,000 miles. This morning on my way to work I smelled electric burning, I think. and at a stop light there was some smoke looked like it was coming from the engine, drove 3 blocks and no smoke. I just had a new alternator put in 1 month / 3,000 miles ago. The security alarm that came with the car seemed to be acting up last week and surging, and it would go off by itself after several minutes of the car being locked. anyone have any ideas.
