I have a 1998 Camaro, V8 with 2 problems that are possiably related. First, the headlights flicker when the car reaches 55 mph or so. Secondly, When i start the car the alternator gauge starts out with the needle about half way between the middle and the over charge area. The needle slowly goes to between the middle and the under charge zone after about an hour and 15 min. drive. (both highway and stop and go) Does anyone have an idea of what’s going on ?

Have the battery and the charging system tested. Many auto parts stores do this free, or you can go to a mechanic. Maybe it’s time for a new alternator, battery, or both.
