I have a real puzzler and need some help. Today after ~40 minute drive I went to accelerate after a stop light, and my ebrake light came on. As soon as I took the car out of gear to shift to second it went out, and stayed out until I stopped and started again. It doesn’t happen every time, and I can’t seem to figure out why it comes on sometimes and not others…

Not familiar with your car, but on many the brake warning light is also a warning for low brake fluid. Check your Owner’s Manual, and/or check the brake fluid level.
Yeah, like Art says, this is a sure sign you need to add brake fluid. Don’t we wish all car problems were this simple and cheap!
I would also check the brakes. They may be close to needed replacement, or may not, but it would be a good idea to check.
