I have a 2001 Dodge Durango with 90,000 miles. The last 6 months when I start the vehichle it winds like a old dodge out of the 60’s when starting it. Never sounded like this the first 85,000 miles. If it is warmed up this does not happen. Mechanic says it is fine and his wind even more.
When you say it winds like an old Dodge, do you mean that it doesn’t start as quickly as it used to or that the starter has that unique pitch that Chrysler starters made in the 60’s? Which engine?
It is a 4.7 engine. It starts slower than when it was newer. The starter has to turn over much longer.
