Drive a little? Don't buy an EV

Where do you get the idea that The Government is forcing you to buy an EV? The auto manufacturers are switching on their own. There are no government laws or other rules forcing them to do so. CAFE regulations are easier to meet with EVs, but manufacturers are not required to sell EVs except in California. The American way is incentives and there certainly are those. Still, you want an ICE car and many are available. Stellantis isn’t forced to stop building ICE powered Charger and Challenger cars, they chose to do it and probably replace them with high powered EVs. Why is it a problem to put down 800 hp in an EV instead of an ICE car?

Hydrogen fuel cells meet the CA standard also.

If the manufacturers can meet more stringent mpg benchmarks and emissions goals with ICE-powered vehicles, they can sell those–instead of EVs.
