Will the Dodge 3.0 and 3.9 bolt up to the same manual transmission? I have a 1990 Ram 50 that has a tired 3.0 engine and I have a chance to buy a 3.9 out of a 1993 Dodge Dakota. Would need to be able to make an easy swap to make it worth while for my son and I.
You’ll be better off rebuilding the Mitsubishi 3.0L. The Ram 50 is simply a rebadged Mighty Max. The Dodge 3.9L won’t be an easy swap. I doubt if the stock transmission would bolt up either.
It definitely will not work. The Ram 50 is a rebadged Mitsubishi Mighty Max. The Dakota is built by ChryCo. They are two completely different vehicles built by two completely different companies.
