Steering Oil leaks underneath approximately location. Underneath in the centre of Engine.
What is the remedy?
Replace the rack and pinion assembly.
First you need to find the source of the leak. Could be from one of the hoses, hose is less than $30. Could be the seals on the rack, if the rack I would be more inclined to replace the rack rather than the seals.
If you plan to trade it in, in the near future, you might get by just adding power steering fluid.
While running, turn the steering wheel all the way to right and hold it there for no more than 5 seconds. Same thing to the left. The leak may be found underneath. Trace the flow back to the leak. If it is coming from the boots on end of steering rack replace the rack. These vans recirculate fluid rather aggressively. If you overfill the fluid just by a little bit, they will leak past the cap out of the reservoir. So if you add fluid recently that could possibly be where it’s coming from.
