My truck wouldn’t start so i replaced the fuel filter and it ran fine for a week than wouldn’t start again. Took it to a mech, who ran all the computer codes and scans on it and came up with a lift pump pressure problem. Replaced the pump and it ran for 4 days, now it doesn’t start again. any suggestions. They said the injection pump was fine.
I don’t know that Dodge engine, but many diesel engines have shutdown valves. Just turning off the fuel pump does not mean the engine is going to stop so they have a special shutdown capability. They can get stuck closed, which means the engine will not start or run until they get the safety off.
It could be nothing more than a gunked shutdown valve.
Good Luck
thanks I’ll check it out.
