I have a 97 chev. 1 ton van with 6.5 turbo diesel that is shutting down like turning off the switch, so far it starts back but don’t know when it will just quit. Any body have an idea?
I had the opposite problem with my 5.7. When you’d go to shut it off it kept on running. There is a solenoid (or used to be anyway) on the injector pump called the fuel shutoff solenoid. I’d suspect there is either a problem with that, the wiring to it, or the ignition switch.
I thought the fuel pump it has 1 on the frame by the tank, it was rusted badly, so put new 1, but didn’t help, someone else said about crank sensor on gas engine. Don’t know about that. But will check injector pump and wiring,thanks
