A link on this Car Talk web site led me to an article re Toytotas recent (or is it ongoing?) accelerator problems. Reference is made to data being obtained from on board data recorders.

Does any one out there know exactly,

1. What parameters are recorded and

2. How long the history trail might be. (You know 10 minutes, 10 days, 2 weeks, 100 years? etc.

I read an article where since you are buying a “foreign” car that you will be required to provide pre Civil War family tree data, you know, “find a leaf” stuff.
