The odometer and shift indicator are almost impossible to see in bright daylight on my 2000 GMC Safari. Is there a way to increase the intensity of the behind-the-dash lighting to better compete with the bright sunlight?
Check your car manual. I have an Astro and once hit an adjustment by the headlamp switch and had the same problem.
Thank you. This vehicle was first sold in Canada and has Daytime Running Lights which cannot be turned off (according to the owner’s manual). The owner’s manual also says that the instrument panel is not lit when DRL are on. However, when I manually turn on the headlamps, the odometer and shift lights get even dimmer.
