If I had a cvc joint going out, how much damage am I doing until I can have it repaired ?
CVC? You mean a CV joint? If you already have to replace the whole thing, you can drive it until it fails - BUT it will probably fail at a bad time (exit ramp from a busy highway, sharp corner at an intersection in town). The damage you can do to other things than your car if/when it fails is quite a lot.
