Well I’m certainly sorry to hear that. I do hope you feel better soon.
I just got tires from Sams club and their warranty was mileage (I forget the #) or 4 years., whichever comes first. Costco is too far from me to make it worth a trip for rotation etc,
@old_mopar_guy , hang in there. I am not too far behind you, make each day count.
Exactly!
Doesn’t Michelin own BFG since 1988??
They go by the RMA (Rubber Manufacturers Association) guidelines and standards as do others…
Members of the Rubber Manufacturers Association include:[6]
- Bridgestone Americas, Inc.
- Continental Tire the Americas, LLC
- Cooper Tire & Rubber Company
- Kumho Tire U.S.A., Inc.
- Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
- Michelin North America, Inc.
- Pirelli Tire North America
- Sumitomo Rubber North America, Inc.
- Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc.
- Yokohama Tire Corporation.
They have all been replaced then, a tire made in 2019/2020 could not have been installed in 2017, unless time travel is real… lol
I’m sure you forgot for whatever reason…
The point of a DOT on a tire is to show it meets US standards and also is tracked by the government so incase of a recall the customers will be notified directly… If/when a recall happens the customer will get a letter in the mail explaining the issue and why they are being notified with the DOT/date code for the said recall tire… The recall only effects the tires within (between) set date codes… The date codes could only represent a week, month or whatever they found the defect to be, meaning it could only be between 2018 and 2218, or 2018 to 4218 etc etc… Firestone uploads every DOT number every night for every tire sold/replaced that day, unless it was a commercial sale to another tire vendor at which point it is up to them or their customer to do so… Point being, it is a very expensive fine for fake DOT’s…
I have caught on multiple occasions, by the DOT number while trying to enter in the DOT number, that the wrong size tire was or is about to be installed on a vehicle and have to stop the tech or pull the vehicle back in and install the correct tire…
They have not been replaced and I have not forgotten.
Sorry to hear this. Cardiovascular symptoms? If so, Dr. Dean Ornish’s book “Program for Reversing Heart Disease” might give you some helpful ideas.
