Cold Starting problems with 98 Honda CRV

I have a 98 Honda CRV with 145K miles. NOw that is cold here is WI I ma having trouble starting my car. Here are the symptoms. When I try and start the car the idle will vary for about 30 secs, many times as it goes to a lower rpm it will stall. IF i give it a little throttle to raise the rpm’s for a few secs then it will be OK. During the warm weather it starts fine. I am thinking that the intake air temp sensor might be bad at lower temps.
