Cold Air Intake on a 2004 Dodge Dakota 3.7

My Dakota is in very good condition for its age. During the last 4 years I have owned it, I have replaced one wheel-bearing, front brake pads and the coolant flushed outside of preventive maintenance. Last couple of months I have thought about installing a cold air intake, add a little power and MPG with some deeper sound.

My question is, am I putting my engine’s good health and reliability at risk by adding an air intake since it’s an older vehicle with over 134,000 miles?

I just think you won’t gain any performance advantage or fuel economy improvement whatsoever with that cold air intake

I’d personally save my money for maintenance and repairs on the truck

I’d pass, nothing to be gained. Better sound? Try a cat back exhaust.

Appreciate the feedback guys, and I look more into the exhaust option.

Your Dakota came with a cold air intake from the factory.
