I own a 2012 and a 2013 Chrysler T & c. Both cars have had valve lifter failures, that required engine teardown for repair. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 3.6 Liter engine. Easy but costly repair.
Your title says 2023 T&C, but the body of your posting says 2012-2013. Typo?
Lifter problems associated with the active fuel management function seems to be a topic here sometimes.
There is no active fuel management on the 3.6 . The new ones have stop/start but thats it . The older ones had some issues from the roller bearings I believe .
The 3.3 and 3.8 engines also requires pulling the heads to replace the lifters.
The vast majority of valve lifter and/or cam issues are caused by lubrication issues; as in not changing the oil often enough, running the oil level low, etc.
Yeah, but the lifters on early 3.6 Pentastar engines was a pretty common occurrence even on well maintained engines.
Yes. Have a 2012 and a 2013.
Glutton for punishment
The beauty is when you have a problem with one, you know what to expect on the other one.
