2003 Jeep Liberty, 3.7 L, 4x4: Check engine light was not on. Sparks plugs were changed, test drove and it was jumpy and then check engine light came on… checked spark plug connections, one was not connected, then connected it, test drove then smooth drive. Check engine light still on. How do I reset it?
It depends, but on many cars the light will go out on it’s own after X number of cycles. That is after you have driven it a few times and got the temperature up to normal and allowed it to cool off between drives.
Of course it is possible there is a second problem.
Drive it a few days and see if the light goes off by itself. Usually this will happen unless there is something else causing the light to be on.
Disconnect one of the battery cables for 30 seconds or so…
