I’ve called several locksmiths and it appears Toyota dealers have a monopoly on duplicate or replacement smartkeys. Is this the case? Have they gone down in price at all? We’ve been down to 1 for about 2 years (reckless, I know) because we’re cheapies. Thanks.
The dealers are the only ones that can supply smart keys. The reason is, they’re the only ones who can program the key to your VIN so that the security system recognizes the code that allows the vehicle to start.
