Changing 2001 Grand Cherokee head light

How can I change the headlights on a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee? The back of the light isn’t readily available like on most vehicles. Also can just the bulbs be replaced or does the entire unit require replacement? I noticed that the entire units is only available on the internet.

What does your Owner’s Manual have to say on this topic?

Check the owner’s manual. There should (might) be information about things like this in the manual.

I’d be really surprised if you needed an entire headlight unit. Go to you local auto parts store and look for a replacement bulb. This is not an Internet search item.

You may need to move other components out to the way to access the bulb. This is normal.

Don’t you just love the way the design department rules over the function part of a car’s design. You never had these problems back with the old cheap effective easy to replace and aim sealed beams.

Let’s start a letter writing campaign. Give us back sealed beam lights.
