driving my 2004 ford taurus along the road and accelerator surges then gas pedal felt funny. when i pressed down on accelerator the car doesn’t proceed down the road. get off the road and put the car in park then in drive again nothing car won’t move. I turn car off car starts but when I put in drive car won’t move. Put in 1st, 2nd and drive still no movement.
what could this be…?
Does your engine start and run? Does it rev higher if you press down on the gas pedal? If so, then you have a transmission problem. (Low transmission fluid level will cause no movement, among other things)
When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid? How many miles on it now?
