Well, apparently the engine is not getting sufficient gas via the fuel pump, but in order for you to get an answer that will be of any value, you have to supply the missing information:

Model?
Model year?
Type of engine?
Carbureted or fuel injected?
Number of miles on the odometer?
Has the vehicle been maintained in accordance with the mfr’s maintenance schedule?
