I don’t know if I can wait for Dec 11 to vote.

Uhhhh, no.

My dad had one. I liked the design, but the “powerful engine” was , I think, 310 cubic inches. Backed with a 2 speed transmission. Not quite the “epitome of American muscle.” if you ask me …

A 65 Skylark isn’t the epitome of American Muscle or really anything else. It broke no ground in power, technology or marketing.

Why not choose the first real muscle car, the 1964 Pontiac GTO? Or even the 65 Mustang GT Fastback, the first pony car?

And why a 26 Model T? Price? The next to last year of the model run? The optional electric starter?

And a 2016 Mercedes E350? German taxi drivers might agree with that choice, not sure many others would.

All I can see is this thing with American Iron under the hood with the carbs sticking out of it, some fat meats on the back and ready for the street… So I had to look to see if it had been done already…

And I guess I am not the only one with a sick twisted mind…

Yes, there was one running around my area a few years ago.
As far as the one you pictured, dual 4BBLs on a 302, can you sat over carbureted? I liked the 544s, look like a 40s Ford, my preference would be a P1800, maybe resto-mod with a turbo four.

The choices are among cars that were donated I’m sure that’s why there are slim pickins.

Correct! :raised_hands:t2: :raised_hands:t2: :raised_hands:t2:

Over the course of the year we get many interesting and sometimes peculiar vehicles donated to local Public Radio stations through our Car Talk Vehicle Donation Program. At the end of the year, we pick the ‘best’ of those and award a Golden Wrench. It is a fun way to showcase our coolest donations and the stations that benefited from it.

Just some Car Talk good fun for a good cause. :upside_down_face: :grinning:
