Car shuts off normally, power stays on (kind of)

Hello. I have a 2004 Toyota Hilux D4-D. When i turn the car off and remove the key from the ignition the headlights either stay on or they turn off and on repeatedly. The climate control fans and dash lights also stay on. My “solution” thus far has been to just disconnect the batteries whenever i’m not using the car.

Any advice on how to troubleshoot and/or what to look for would be much appreciated!

I am not familiar with your vehicle, but you may have a defective Integration relay. It is more of a circuit board than a square relay.

Suggest to ask an auto-electrics specialist to diagnose this for you. Impossible to say for certain what the problem is with the info you provided. If I were to guess, my first guess is your ignition switch assembly is faulty and needs to be replaced. One of the posters here recently diagnosed a battery drain problem to that cause on his truck of a different make/model. Not an unusual problem though, especially on an 8 year old vehicle. Best of luck.
