Car is completely dead

Im guessing I don’t know but this person has done left it like that and didn’t bother putting it back together or wait til my ole man gets out, I don’t know a lot of ppl who can work on cars either

That is what I was thinking also…

The other two, one is for the positive, the other for the negative. I can remove the red tray in the morning and take a better pic. Thanks tho

Give me a break, wasn’t talking about relationship issues or whatever

With what money? I’m surviving off my student loans. I don’t get much back but it’s enough.

You need a battery and a cable end to attach to the positive cable:

Until you can get those, there’s nothing anyone can do.

A battery is bulky. Sometime you need to remove it and tray under it to reach starter. This is what motor/battery looks like

OK cool, since you know that the other two cables with ends are +/- and which one is which (the main thing), you are going to have to connect the one with no cable end (starter wire?) to the other positive cable with the end already on it, should be 2 bolts to loosen the strap and joint the 2 cables together under the strap of the battery cable end and re tighten the bolts for the strap back down… Install battery and cross your fingers, looks like everything is there so no cost out of pocket unless you need a couple of tools or the battery terminal end(s) are messed up…

But you need to get it all back together so if it doesn’t start, then we will be more able to help you with it…

As for some of the members, y’all act like life has never kicked you in the teeth and your post show it, consider yourselves lucky and or privileged…

You have dad? Brother? Friend of a friend who can look at it? Even a mobile mechanic might be an idea.

I’ve looked into the mobile mechanic but can’t afford it at the moment, Ive got it connected, was told that any wires coming from the starter goes to the positive and the ground wire goes to the negative. But can’t reconnect the battery because of the positive top post is damagedbaa you can see…

Are you sure about that? It seems incorrect to me.

The stud with the lock washer and nut on the starter body should have the big battery cable going to the pos battery terminal, the small spade connector should have a much smaller signal wire, it does not go to the battery pos or neg, it is what tells the starter to engage when the key is in start mode…

The other big gauge wire on the battery pos terminal will go to something like the under hood fuse box…

The starter body grounds itself against the engine block…

And what ground wire are you talking about?? The battery cable with the terminal end already on it??

For now, if you are comfortable with a knife, you can carefully scrape the raised up part on the battery terminal enough to connect the battery cable terminal end to it… Just be careful not to touch the pos and neg together… A battery terminal bladed tool would be better, but it may not be in the budget right now…

BTW, it is better to hook up the pos 1st, then neg 2nd when installing the battery, but unhook the neg 1st and then the pos 2nd when removing it…

When is BF getting out of jail?
Uh, wait. He may know nothing about cars. Also.
I’m making assumption he might know stuff.

I am sure that if it was next week, the young lady would probably wait… And it really is none of our business either…

There’s a wire coming from the side wall of the car, left side near the fuse box and I’m not sure when he’s out, it’s been almost five months ok…but I’m trying to learn abit, i mean I do know how to change the oil and tires…

You are ahead of a lot of guys out there then…
