Car halt when stepping on gas peda

I have a 99 Chevy Venture. Recently it happens more and more often: when I try to make a left turn in the middle of driving, I step on gas pedal. Instead of speeding up, the car will halt for half second and then continue to speed up. Feels like there is a clot in the blood vessel. It happens more and more often, not only when making a left turn, but also when driving forward . Whenever I try to step hard on gas, it happens. Does anyone have the sampe issue? Thank you for attention.

This is called hesitation and can also be called stumble. It usually indicates a lean condition misfire. One device that can cause this, if defective, is a Throttle Position Sensor.

However, it could be related to the need for a tuneup, i.e. spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter.

Hope this points you in the right direction.
