My vehicle (suv) feels like I drove over something on a fast acceleration from a stop. This only happens when stopped and a quick acceleration. If I accelerate slowly it doesnt happen. Everything else seems fine. No check engine light on and 300,000 kms on vehicle.
If you are feeling a strong thump in the SUV as it accelerates hard you should check out the condition of the motor mounts. A worn motor mount will let the whole engine and transmission move around too much and make that sort of sound and feel.
So which SUV IS it? Are you going to make us guess? If you want a cause and possible solution, post as much information about your SUV and the problem.
My guess a bad U-joint if so equipped.
The torque converter lock-up function might be involved, if an automatic trans.
