Took it in to the dealer, 2017 Acadia limited. AutoZone called it failed pressure test on emission test, not a gas cap, take it to the dealer. So I did. $200 diagnosis fee, whatever fix it. They called back today and said we got it in, I asked does the diagnostic fee get applied to repair? They said there will be no charges for diagnostic fee or repair. Crazy world!
N/C? Good for your shop. I hope you reward them by giving them more business in the future. There’s supposedly a near-by comet flying around in the sky, maybe it brought you good luck.
I expect the tech folks discovered that one of the easily accessible evap hoses fell off its fitting, or broke at the fitting. So no need for a replacement part.
What exactly was the repair?
Either that scenario, or–perhaps–this was covered by a recall.
Evidently not a recall but a high failure rate on the purge pump, Totyally No charge, YAHOO GMC dealer. "A failing evaporative emissions purge pump in a GMC vehicle may be covered by a special coverage program that requires dealers to replace the pump at no cost to the customer. "
Moral of the story if your gm vehicle needs a purge pump take it to the dealer to see if there is a free fix.
