has n1 exhaust and t3 turbo on a 93 prelude. just ordered a oem cat to pass smogg but wondering if it will melt it or anything?
After you pass smog, remove the cat until your next test…Since force-fed engines have more exhaust volume, for continuous service a larger cat might be needed. But remember, the only time there is increased exhaust flow is during WOT operation…For normal driving, the stock cat will be fine.
Just leave it on. The turbo will ruin the engine faster than the cat will wear out on a Frankenstein engine.
