im looking at purchasing a used 2008 mitzy outlander imported from japan from a used car dealer.I live in New Zealand .
what should i be mindful of, looking for regarding defects or issues & problems.

11 year old vehicle imported from another country. It doesn’t matter what problems may be common on these. Care and condition are everything! I’d suggest flying there and driving the car before buying it. Pay a trusted mechanic to look the car over before you buy and import it. Expensive, sure, but so is buying and importing a bad car.
You can’t find a vehicle that has been in the country since new with a verifiable history. The only way I would buy this thing is with at least a 90 day bumper to bumper warranty.
