Someone wrote a parody story about Microsoft trademarking the name ‘Bob’ (remember Microsoft Bob?), requiring everyone else who wanted to use it to pay royalties.
If name recognition was important to help you make money, you just might copyright your name. I doubt that your screen name puts food on your table, and I’m pretty sure you know I was joking, too. I was not joking about name recognition ties to making money, though.
