What are the factory specifications for the thickness of brake pads before they need to be replaced on a 2003 Mustang?
I would imagine you must change them when the wear indicator STARTS to make contact with the rotor and squeals like most vehicle brakes.
In addition your state’s safety inspection standards (if you have state inspectiosn) will have specs. They’ll probably be around 3/32" minimum.
