Brakes

Can anyone tell me the difference between power-assisted brakes and power brakes? Thank you. abfunex

They are the same.

There is no difference.

Somebody wasted too much ink on one of those types.

Power assisted brakes, also called simply power brakes, use the vacuum from the engine to pull one side of a diaphragm (called a booster) that’s physically connected to your brake system linkage and assists you in applying the brakes.

www.carbibles.com has a great primer on brakes. I strongly recommend a visit.

one costs you more, and has a prettier brochure, but they both do the same things.

in what context are you asking? did you read this somewhere?

just curious.
