Due to a problem with the airbags, BMW has issued a recall for their model 4 Series convertibles. In all, 2,067 vehicles are affected by the recall. They include the 428i, 428i xDrive, 435i and 435i xDrive convertibles of the 2015 model year and manufactured between October 22, 2014, and February 27, 2015.
According to BMW, the issue stems from a problem with the software, in particular, the timing of the airbag’s deployment. If the airbag doesn’t deploy fast enough, serious injuries can result. Fortunately, there is an easy fix, car owners simply need to bring in their vehicle so the software can be reset.
