i have a bmw 318 4cyl automatic.all the forward gears are good no slip or problem shifting but reverse is not to be found .i have heard about problems in the newer models wit the valve body and nylon check balls. hoping this wasnt the case wit the older models.any info would be appreciated

Actually you should probably hope it IS something simple like nylon check balls. You SURE don’t want to have to overhaul that one. What year is your 318i?

the bmw is an 84 it seemed strange to me to have all the forward grears every auto trans ive incountered reverse and first were drivin by the same clutch pack

thanks mg anick that was help full i was hoping for a little more in depth knowledge i would not overhaul was just hoping to run into someone who had experienced the prob or better yet had been inside one
