Just wondering if anyone has a rough idea of what I should pay for a new manual transmission in a '98 Subaru Legacy Outback. One shop told us $600. But another guy said something like “It doesn’t sound good,” which kind of scared me! I’m just looking for a range… any ideas??? We already checked gear fluid - it’s fine. Our clutch is only a year old. Grinding noises and sticking when we try to change gears. It still works, but not for long I fear.
