I hear a bunch of clicking when actuating the window switches, either direction. I have to manually pull up the windows regularly. I can get a pair of doors for $150, but it seems like a crazy solution. I found a pair of new motor/regulators (generic?, not Saturn) for $125. Is either of these good, or can I just open it up and repair without replacing?
You need to inspect the regulators to see if they are the problem. It certainly does sound as if they are. I’d guess from the price that the new ones include the motor. I’ve had both good and bad luck with replacement regulator/motor assemblies. You need to be sure that they will work for longer than a few months. I got mine (good and bad) on eBay. If you want, I’ll let you know which vendor I like.
