I was interested in purchasing a camera backup system for my Honda Element. (I have a really bad blind spot when I back up, and it’s very unnerving). I would like to have a license plate camera and a rear view mirror monitor. Does anyone have any recommendations for a solid and reliable system? I don’t have a lot of money, but I would feel so much better if I could see what was behind me. Thanks
Canadian Tire sells a backup camera system. I don’t remember the cost off-hand, but it’s not terribly expensive, and I haven’t heard anything bad about it. If you’re in the States, then Sears might have something like you want. Also, check out large parts stores (PartSource, Advance Autoparts, etc.)
You should check out an RV dealer. They often have good selections if back-up cameras.
Even though it will cost more, get a color system. If a child or pet were to dart behind your car, you’ll react faster because we’re wired to see in color. Recognition is faster.
