Automatic transmission

I was recently in a accident and had to lock the brakes at about 55 mph. In reaction to this my anti-lock brakes took over. I now beleive I have a bad synchronizer which will not disengage due to a high frequency vibration that I now feel at highway speeds. Similar to what is felt with a manual transmission when shifting from say 5th to 3rd at highway speed. Is this possible? I want to have the insurance company pay for this repair.

It’s entirely possible to suffer a transmission problem due to an accident but the problem is not a synchronizer. You have an automatic transmission and an automatic has no synchronizers at all.

The vibration is going to be elsewhere more than likely; braking system, bent wheel, bent hub, alignment out, possibly a tire, etc.
