I recently had my automatic transmission repaired and now 5 moths later the exhaust (from sound and rattling) is broken near the engine/drivers seat. Shortly after the noise and mild rattling started, the transmission seems to be acting up a tad in the lower gears from stop to go. Can the exhaust impact the transmission if the exhaust pressure is out of what?
Make, model, year and mileage of car would be helpful info.
Removing the trans for repair might have involved shifting the engine, and that could put a strain on the exhaust.
An exhaust problem could conceivably throw a computer controlled engine and trans out of whack.
