The torgue converter on my 2001 Dodge Neon sometimes does not let go when braking, resulting in a shuddering sensation. Shifting into neutral relieves the problem and allows it to stop normally, and proceed without difficulty after returning to Drive. I have had the transmission replaced, along with the torque converter. When it happenned again, the shop replaced it, no questions asked. However, after 2-3 days, the problem is returning. It only happens for the first 1/2 to 1 mile in the morning. Aferwards, the car is fine the rest of the day, regardless of how long it has rested. What’s going on?
