I have recently purchased a 2001 Audi A6 wagon and have two problems. The first is a “burning” type of smell that smells like a cross between oil and rubber. I drive 5 miles to and from the train station, and the smell occurs when I’m stopped at a traffic light. What confuses me is when I drive a distance greater than 10 miles, I don’t get the burning smell when I stop. It almost seems like the smell needs to build up in order to release?
The second problem is a strong odor of oatmeal from the car. I have shampooed everything, but the smell is still there. Is this just a case of messy previous owners, or something else entirely? Thanks!
