Audi a3 700e repair did nothing

Hello, i have already wrote here before about my car. Audi a3 2010 1.6TDI 105HP 7 speed automatic. Once winter started i had a problem that when i start the car cold, rpm scale would go up and down and car would begin to choke and shut off. This could be solved by me slamming on my gas pedal for a few sec that would give car a boost to stay on and be stable. This however didn’t work for long as another symptom would appear soon, this time once i pressed the gas pedal it did nothing, and as i couldn’t boost the car it would shut off. Only on my 6-7 attempt to start the car would gas pedal start to work. I thought this was problematic and would take a look at it but another symptom appeared. I was driving my car and once i went over a hill my gas pedal stopped working. I had to re start the car for it to work again. And this continued to happen every time i would go across speed bumps or randomly as i was driving, gas pedal would stop working for a few secounds.

I decided i had enough and i gave a car to a mechanic. He said it was probably bad fuel injectors and he took them out and sent them to be re wired( don’t know the exact word in english but he sent them to a guy who checks them out, if they can be repaired he does it and sends them back) that cost me 600e, and the guy who was repairing them said they were in very very bad shape, one of them was so bad it was injecting live fuel. I gave another 100e to mechanic for his work and he also replaced injector holders or caps i think.

Problem solved? No! A few days pass, car is normal, i drove it in clear road with high rpm to clear out any bad fuel that might of left from injectors before they were fixed. Than to my suprise one morning i start the car, RPM go wild, pointer jumps up and down as car struggles to stay on, gas pedal is not working, and than it shuts off, only on my 9-10 attempt gas pedal starts working and i get the car to stay on. I must say i didn’t expiriance gas pedal shutting off while driving yet, but this is insane. I called my mechanic and as i explained to him that my parking is a little bit steep, its like 5-7cm angle, and i always park the car front first, he said fuel might be leaking back from motor to the back so thats why i have trouble starting it untill the fuel reaches the motor. And he told me i should park the car other way around so that front is pointing downhill. I’m now going to wait 3-5 days and see if that does anything. Anyone has advice?

Based on the comments from the injector shop, one or more injectors need to be replaced.

+1
But, the first thing that I would check is the IAC.

A TDI is a turbo diesel… I don’t believe a diesel has an IAC.

Whoops!
I missed that detail.

This vehicle has had problems for 6 months. Sounds like time to take it to a Audi dealer or at least a dedicated Audi shop.

I don’t think thats an option for me, paid 8k euros for it, now with registration and this fix expense its over 9k, and with these problems i doubt anyone would buy it at these prices when they see what problems it has, i would lose quite a lot of money…

I know its my problem for picking this car but it worked so well when i bought it, on inspection mechanic told me all the parts seem to be original and overall car was in very good condition for its age. Dealer did say robot that was shifting gears was messed up when he bought it from a owner, and he fixed it before selling it to me. After that overheating problem i had that was happening because coolant was too old and it clogged up some pipes, i suspected the car might of been sitting unused for quite some time( maybe even years) before dealer got bought it, and as i heard its worse for a car to not be driven for a long time than to be driven badly xD.

Also i would like to add that diagnostic is clean with no faults, and if it means anything my fuel consumption is 7.5l/100km. I don’t think this is very good considering before this car i owned Golf MK 5, 2.0 TDI 140HP automatic that had fuel consumption of about 5.5l/100km. And this one is 1.6 but it consumes more, so it might be connected to what i’m dealing with.

I guess you did not understand me. By taking it to a dealer I meant for an actual Audi mechanic to fix this thing. Not sell or trade

Oh my bad than, i have thought about that but some of my senior family members keep telling me that they are very expensive and don’t do better job than a normal mechanic, tho i will keep that option open.

An Audi dealer might be able to tell you what is wrong. You can decide to take their advice. Or not.

So i’ve waited 3 days with car facing downhill now, i tried to start it now to see if it will shut off, to my suprise, it started rough, it was starting to choke, but it stayed on and stabilised soon, and than it was working fine, i didn’t even press gas pedal. Altho it was not cold outside as it was when i had problems to start it, i don’t think temperature played that big of a factor. So it seems when car is facing downhill it doesn’t shut off, this probably indicates fuel is not staying where it should for a car to start i guess?

How steep of a hill, and do you have enough fuel in it, and I don’t mean under a 1/4 tank…?? Is it doing this even with 1/2 tank or more in it??
