I have replaced the brake light switch and the brake lights still stay on. What else could be wrong ?

It is possible the brake pedal stop pad for the stop light switch has dry rotted and fell outā¦
Here is a 4 piece kit for Nissanās, I used these on my Infinity back 11 months ago and they are still working as designed, you should have 2 stop pads on the brake pedal, one for the brake lamp switch and one for the cruise control cancel switch, replace both at the same timeā¦
