Any idea what "MTS" means?

My '99 Chevy Prizm failed state inspection. The mechanic gave me a list of necessary repairs and among them is a notation that reads “Both rear struts & MTS” - anyone know what MTS means? Thanks!

I’m guessing “struts and mounts”.

Yeah, “struts and strut mounts.” I’m surprised strut mounts are included in a state inspection. Apparently you failed on struts, but new mounts must be required to make the repairs. Or the station is trying to drum up extra business. A second opinion can’t hurt.

“Mounts” must be it, thanks all!

If these inspection stations also do the repairs, it’s in their interest to find something wrong. Might you be able to take it to another inspection station? The average mileage of 120,000 miles may, or may not, be enough to cause that much wear. Many people, even at 200,000 miles, haven’t changed their struts.

MTS = Boat Payment ;’)

Too much effort involved writing to word ‘mounts’?
